Hi, I’m Megan.

I’m the founder of Little Fish Speech Therapy, LLC and a bilingual speech-language pathologist with over 10 years of experience working with children and families. I created Little Fish after seeing how powerful communication growth can be when therapy is centered in real life, not just the therapy room.

In my work, I’ve learned that when we slow down and truly enter a child’s world, understanding what brings them joy, how they communicate, and what feels meaningful to them, language begins to emerge in more natural and lasting ways. I believe in supporting the whole child, not just their skills, and honoring the many ways children express themselves as they develop communication.

At Little Fish, I partner with families to build these meaningful connections together. From your first consultation through ongoing therapy, my focus is on helping you better understand your child and creating opportunities for communication to grow through play, connection, and everyday life.

My Story

where it all began..

I am from New Jersey and have lived in various places in the US and South America.  I fell in love with the Spanish language while studying Spanish Literature in college. After I received my Bachelor’s degree, I spent a year living in Quito, Ecuador, working with a non-profit organization to help serve some of the city’s most vulnerable population. In Quito, I taught subjects such as special education, adult education, art, and English while helping instill values in my students to help them lift themselves out of poverty. I originally went to Quito to learn more Spanish and expand my horizons while traveling, but I came back to the US armed with a strong desire to help others who most need it.

I then went to graduate school and received my Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology. After I graduated, I took a position at an outpatient center at a children’s hospital where I worked with children who had ASD and/or multiple disabilities, as well as children transitioning from the inpatient setting to home. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with so many parents; however, I noticed that they often felt anxious and unsure about how to help improve their child’s communication abilities. I loved seeing the progress each child made as their parents worked with them to enhance their ability to communicate effectively.

A few years later, I spent a year working as a speech pathologist with another non-profit organization for a vulnerable community in Trujillo, Peru. While there, I provided therapy to children with severe disabilities and trained other therapists on common speech, language, and feeding practices in the US. I worked under circumstances in which there were few resources available, but felt exceptionally fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve the therapists and their community.

More recently, my work has focused on DIR/Floortime–informed, bilingual Spanish-English services for children and families. In this approach, I support communication development through connection, following the child’s lead in play, and building meaningful interactions that support the whole child.

While I’m not providing therapy, I enjoy hiking, cooking, practicing the ukulele, and spending time with my husband, Angel, and our pup, Dobby.

I appreciate the opportunity that each family gives me as they invite me into their home to allow me to help them. I look forward to serving you and your family.
